Seventh arrest in RAF Fairford terror-plot inquiry as 22-year-old held in Westminster on 6 October

Counter Terrorism Police arrested the British man in central London on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts. Six earlier suspects have been released on bail.

Counter Terrorism Police have arrested a 22-year-old British man in London on suspicion of terror offences connected with the suspected plot against RAF Fairford, the seventh person to be detained in the inquiry.

The man was arrested in the London borough of Westminster on Tuesday on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts, Counter Terrorism Policing said. Six other suspects arrested earlier in the investigation have been released on bail.

The inquiry began on 27 September, when officers stopped three vans near the US bomber base in Gloucestershire. A substance found in drums inside the vehicles was later found not to be a viable explosive, The Sun reported.
