Complaints

If you believe the British Journal has fallen short of its standards, you can complain to the publication. This page explains how to complain and what happens next.

Complaints may concern accuracy, fairness, privacy, or the conduct of our reporting. A complaint about a factual error is handled under our corrections policy: corrections appear at the foot of the article they correct, labeled Corrections, with the date of the correction and what changed. We do not silently rewrite published copy.

To complain, use the contact form and choose the Other topic. Include the article headline or URL, what you are complaining about, and the outcome you are seeking.

We read every complaint. Where a complaint is upheld, we correct the record as described in our corrections policy, and the correction is noted on the article it concerns. Clarifications are labeled as clarifications.
